Remote Backup Software is used to copy recorded video from compatible Hikvision recorders and devices to a computer. This guide explains the download, device setup, backup schedule, camera selection and file export process step by step.

How to configure Remote Backup software is explained below. With Hikvision Remote Backup software, you can back up all files stored on a Hikvision device or hard drive. To do this, add the device or devices to the software and configure the backup menu. You can then back up files manually or configure automatic backup so it runs according to the schedule you define.

How to Configure the Software
  • After downloading and installing the software, run it.
  • Click the SETTING option.
  • [1] In the GENERAL tab:
    • [2] Choose where the files should be saved.
    • [3] Check the “Overwrite the earliest files & continue to download” option.
    • [4] If desired, enter your email address in the specified field to receive notifications.

      How to Add Cameras:
      • [1] In the DEVICE tab, select [2] ADD.
      • [3] Enter a name for the device in the specified field.
      • [4] Select ADDRESSING MODE and
      • [5] enter one of the following items:
      1. IP ADDRESS AND PORT
      2. DOMAIN NAME AND PORT
      3. HIDDNS AND SERVER ADDRESS
      • In the [6] enter the username and password.
      • The [7] field is optional and can be left unchanged.
      • [8] Click OK.

        Schedule Setup / Camera Selection:
        • In the next section, [1] click SCHEDULE and enter a name [2] then click [3] OK.
        • [4] Click SELECT CAMERA and select the desired camera or cameras. [5] Select the desired camera(s).
        • Click OK. [7]

          Schedule Configuration:
          • Clickthe indicated section [1] to activate it.
          • In the [2] Select the days of the week.
          • In the [3] Set the start time and in the [4] field specify the maximum recording duration.
          • In the [5] Select the files you want to back up based on their recording time. For example, files recorded the previous day can be selected as “1 DAY OLD”.
          • In the [6] Set the start time and in the [7] Set the recording end time.
          • In the [8] Select the file type.
          • [9] By enabling COPY BACKUP SCHEDULE, the schedule will also be applied to other devices.
          • [10] Click OK.

            Searching Backed-Up Files:
            • [1] Click RECORD SEARCH.
            • [2] Select the desired cameras.
            • [3] Select the recorded-file format.
            • [4] Select the desired time range.
            • [5] Select SEARCH.
            • In the [6] The desired video will appear.
            • Click [7] to preview the video.
            • [8] Select the files and click EXPORT FILES. [9] In the popup, specify the output path for the files [10] then click EXPORT. [11].
